The Vineyard Candle Collection

Every candle begins with a vine we grow. Our vineyard is planted to distinct grape clones—individual selections chosen for the character they bring to our fruit and wines.

This collection carries that same attention into the home. Each scent is named for a clone, vineyard road, or chapter of our work in Alexander Valley: small details from the farm, made to be lit, lived with, and remembered.

What are grape Clones?

A clone is a cutting from a specific grapevine, selected and grafted so its best qualities can be carried forward. The choices we make in the vineyard—what we plant, where we plant it, and how we care for it—shape every harvest.

Our Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot blocks include selections with their own history and character. The candles honor those details: the work in the rows, the seasons that follow, and the vines that help define López Family Vineyards

Meet the Clones

  • We planted Malbec clone 595 in 2021. These plants are 5 years old and have produced some fantastic wines. We look forward to sharing a bottle of red or blend with you!

  • Our Clone 7 is a reference to our Chardonnay grapes. These grapes were the first grapes available at L.F.V. This candle fills the room with scents of bergamot, grapefruit, and citrus. We planted these vines in 1978 and then grafted them to Cabernet Franc in 2019.

  • After our 2019 harvest, we grafted our chardonnay grapes to clone 327 Cabernet Franc grapes. We chopped off the chardonnay vines' heads and t-budded with Cab Franc. These plants are thriving in their newly converged organic vineyard.

  • We planted petit Verdot Clone 400 in 2022. These plants are now producing some fantastic wines.

  • Our vineyards are alongside historic Highway 128 in Sonoma County, California. This landmark highway is home to Alexander Valley and runs through other AVA’s like Sonoma West Coast.
